PAINTINGS AND DRAWINGS
ABOUT FACES, by Joseph Raggio,
well known local artist and architect. He was
born and educated in New York City and also studied
extensively abroad. In addition to his degree in Fine Arts,
he received a Bachelor's degree in Architecture. He now
lives in the Capital District.
The current exhibit represents work that was developed in
this area since 1989. As a member of the River Front Artists
group, the exhibit reflects the various models and friends
who have passed. His work in oils is very much influenced by
the French Impressionists. His drawings however, maintain
the curiosity of the tangible world of the Italian
Renaissance. The naturalism of his paintings and drawings
are incidental to his need of capturing that fleeting moment
of time when his work achieves its own creation. The exhibit
will be at the Museum during June and July.
