February Monthly Meeting & Cultural Presentation, Thursday, February 22nd.
The business meeting starts at 7:00pm, followed by Kevin Wilson's presentation: "Sully's Squad". As Mr. Wilson states -- the topic will include but is not limited to: History of my Italian Family who arrived from Ariano Irpino through Naples to Granville, NY to work in the quarries. The likeness of me to my Uncle Salvatore "Sullivan" Fringi called Sully. He was a Sargent in the Army First Division "Big Red One" and paid the ultimate sacrifice in the Sicilian campaign. I will then discuss the process of how I began the manuscript on my Uncle called Sully's Squad and an overview of the book from the creative design to character structure to the story' itself which is still in editing. I will also bring in the Italian Resistance who helped create obstacles for the Germans during the occupancy at the end of September 1943. Free and open to the public. Please bring dessert for the reception following the presentation.

Pizza & Movie Night: Friday, February 23rd at 6:30pm.
The movie is "LaDolce Vita", (Italian-English sub-title), starring Marcello Mastroianni and Anita Ekberg (comedy/drama film). Cost is $5 for pizza and refreshments. Please make your reservations by February 21 st.

International Women's Day will be celebrated on Thursday, March 8th at our Museum.
In Italy it is called: Fiesta della Donna. Around the world it is an occasion to express appreciation to women and in Italy love by men to the women around them. We would like to have a committee to plan a luncheon program and present an Award to an Outstanding Italian Woman in the Capital District. If you are interested on being on the committee or attending, please contact us by February 21st.

Our thirty-second Annual St. Joseph Celebration will take place on Thursday, March 15th. The business meeting starts at 7:00pm,
followed by a presentation with slides by Prof./Cav. Philip J. DiNovo and a short film. You are invited to bring bread, fruit, candles and dessert to decorate our traditional St. Joseph table. This year we will serve Zeppole (Calabria style - custard), from Bella Napoli Italian Bakery. Cost Is $5. Your check by March 12 confirms your reservation. Wear red and be a part of this wonderful tradition. Please bring can goods that will be donated to the st. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry, as feeding the poor is an important part of the St. Joseph Celebration

Our Annual Palm Weaving Class will take place on Tuesday, March 20th at 11:00am. T
he Instructor is Elena Mack, who is donating her talent and time again to teach this class. If you have some palms, please bring them. If not, some will be provided. Donation is $5 and please make your reservation by March 18.

Italian Easter Cookinq Class - will be held on March 21St at 11:00am.
The Instructor is Dolores Scalise. What she will make will be on Facebook, in the email newsletter, and on a flyer. You may also call the Museum at 518-435-1979. The cost is $10. You will get to taste what she makes. Reservations are required by March 19.

Our 3rd Annual Italian Easter Bake Sale will take place on Friday, March 30th from 11:00-2:00 and Saturday, March 31st from 11:00-3:00.
In order to be sure you can get the following: Ricotta Pie, Ricotta Wheat Pie, Guanti (ewonds) in 1 lb. container, Paski Bread (Babka), Ham & Cheese Pie, Easter Bread and Classic Italian Cookies (Genets & Pizzelles) we highly suggest you pre-order. Additional baked goods will be available for sale on the pick-up dates. For details please pick up an order form. Watch for info. In email newsletter and on Facebook. The Chair is Nancy Macy.

Spring Museum hours (April/May) Mon., Thur. & Fri. from 11 am to 2 pm. Sat. & Sun. from 12 noon to 3 pm

June Museum hours Monday, Thursday & Friday 11:-2:00  Saturday & Sunday 12:00noon to 3:00

July & August Museum hours Monday, Thursday & Friday 11:-2:00  Saturday  12:00noon to 3:00

September 1st to December 31st. our hours are: Mon. Thur. and Friday 11 am to 2 pm . Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to 3 pm.

January 1st to March 31st
the museum will only be open on Friday 11am-2pm. & Saturday. from 12 noon to 3 pm and by appointment.

The museum will be closed on Sunday during July and August.

Open by advance appointment outside of regular hours.

If your coming a distance please call ahead to see if we will be open the day you wish to visit, since our staff are all volunteers.
